Priscilla and Joan decided we should walk at West Parish
Cemetary today so we could see the Tiffany windows in the
non-denominational chapel. Today was "open chapel" to raise
money for the restoration of the chapel. Normally the place
is locked and it has not been used for services in years
because of water damage and deterioration. Priscilla's
nephew is working on the historic restoration project , and
I've always wanted to see the inside, especially the
windows, and the sun was out for a change so we went for
it.
As if it wasn't already a a full day with viewing the windows, I picked up Nancy at the bus station and we went to dinner at Thai's at One Kendall Square followed by seeing Love and Death on Long Island, which I highly recommend. It is a weird feeling to find yourself rooting for a stalker. John Hurt is fabulous as the old fogey British novelist who becomes obsessed with a young American movie actor featured in teen exploitation flicks. And another thing, I'd better go out and buy myself a VCR and whatever other technical conveniences connect one to the modern world lest I too become like Giles De'Ath (John Hurt's character). See the movie. It'll grow on you slowly. | ||||||||||
