It seemed like everyone I've ever met at the Coffee Connection on Main Street since last summer stopped in Starbucks (the CC's new identity) this morning. I had to feed the parking meter twice and it's a 2-hour meter! Long conversations about academic politics, clinical depression, how to make a living as an artist, God, the universe and everything - the life a liberal education prepares you for - segued into the afternoon. I could've stayed there all afternoon.

Nancy and I went to the Spinners game tonight. The Spinners had a little rally going in the second inning when the umpire stopped the game and the grounds crew rolled out the tarp. We hung around for awhile but the rain got heavier and the umpires showed no signs of restarting the game. I am just not getting enough baseball this summer.
