The cats must know the weather is changing, they're all growling and hissing at each other. Pumpkin has taken possession of the barrel of clean litter and the entire sink area. This is news to George who is taking a leisurely drink of water from the community water bowl on the counter. They glare at each other. They hiss. For some reason, Jaguar chooses this exact moment to leap to the top of the fridge - right between Pumpkin and George! The hissing and growling escalates. I break it up. I turn my back and Pumpkin has taken up a position under the sink and is daring me to enter her territory to wash the dishes.

Meanwhile, the guy who services the first aid kit arrives to check on the supplies and Roberta is chatting him up in the laundry room trying to get some first aid supplies for her son's soccer team and trying to get the first aid kit guy to adopt the Riley Ave cats because he has a barn.

The laundry is piled so high I can't see the washer over it. I keep the washer and dryer full and running at all times and it looks like I haven't done anything.

Every time I think I'm done with the dishes and litterboxes more appear under the sink.

Just another day with winter in the air.

The sky was clear and bright blue this morning when I left my house. At the shelter, the sky was gray and heavy - pregnant with moisture. The wind started to pick up when I got there and was blowing pretty good when I left. The forecast now is for 2 inches of sleet overnight.

Spent quite a bit of time catching up with entering the Hokkaido travel journal. I'm still not done. The light bulb burned out in my office and I tried to keep going by the small desk lamp but as it got cloudier out it got harder. Guess I'll have to quit until I get another bulb.

Dinner and tea with Kate at Tea Tray in the Sky. Home early enough to watch the end of The Drew Carey Show but too late to stock up on groceries in case there really is a severe storm. I meant to pick up a 200 watt light bulb on the way home but forgot. So here I am typing in the dark. As long as I don't have to read anything from hardcopy this is fine.

Well, it's 11:20 PM, where's the storm?
