gray skies are gonna clear up, put on a happy face
Let's see that would be 5.6 kinds of weather per hour. You'd never know today's weather was in the same month as yesterday's,never mind the same season. It's gray and raw. I saw little kids wearing sweatshirts in the streets of Andover. I told Joan-east I didn't want to walk tonight because it was supposed to rain again with possible thunderstorms. That didn't happen, but it sure looked like it. When I drove over to Alumni field for the Lowell Spinners game I kept telling myself I was insane to be driving toward that heavy slate gray sky, that I'd regret leaving my umbrella behind, that this was not baseball weather... But hey, it started to clear a little bit. The sunset put on quite a show through the cracks in the cloud barrier. Myron Noodleman put on quite a show dancing between innings. The Spinners put on quite a show in the 4th inning. I left in the 7th because I need my beauty sleep. The game went extra innings. At least I got out today. I was beginning to think I'd finally become the recluse I've feared turning into. I slept until noon and took forever to get going. Seeing the Spinners actually cheered me up a lot. I've been missing the crack of the bat, the slap of the ball in the glove, the rhythm of the double play... For some reason, my baseball intake has been solely via radio this season until tonight. No wonder I've been depressed! Oh yeah, the Spinners beat the Watertown Indians and the Red Sox beat the Cleveland Indians. How symmetric. | |
