Sometime in the 1960's, the right wing conservatives claimed the flag as their own and they've acted like they own it ever since. If you see somebody wearing a flag lapel pin, you automatically think "right wing" don't you? But y'know what? Thanks to Thomas Jefferson, you don't have to be conservative to love the USA. Although, the right wing militias seem to have co-opted Thomas Jefferson too. So, hey, the right wing doesn't own the country OK? If there's any lefties left out there: take back the USA!
