Tim Sullivan - Certified Airplane Guy

Tim Sullivan came over to our tie-down area and introduced himself while we were getting our plane ready for it's first flight.

In real life, Tim is a Captain for Continental Airlines. He flies Boeing 737 and 757 airplanes.

There's something about small planes though, that he just can't tear himself away from.

Tim is one of the most unpretentious guys I've ever known. I think we've all known pilots who become a legend in their own mind once they get a little alphabet soup following their name. You know what I mean, the guys who say things like, "Yeah I'm a CFII, IFR, Multi-Engined, complex rated, super poo-bah." Well, Tim isn't one of them.

Tim's also the only other person, besides myself, who's soloed N4077.

Over the winter of 2001/2002, Tim built a Rotax 582 powered Trike. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of it yet.

I believe this shot was taken on the first day we met Tim.

Can you believe this.

Here I am giving Tim a familiarization flight with our FlightStar.

Here's Tim's first solo. That's me talking to him next to runway 32 in Mansfield.

Tim taxiing back.

There was no structural damage [grin]
