24-July-99 Home from Pocatello

. .
.
We just got home from Pocatello, Idaho, an hour ago. It'll take me a while to write up the last week, but if you check there should be some new stuff every now and then. I'm going to start by copying my notes onto separate files by the day, and then fill them in, and eventually edit this page so it has a legit entry for today.

Oh. My mom lives in Pocatello. We didn't just pull it out of a hat for a destination. We flew out to Salt Lake City and rented a car. It's 160 miles from SLC to Poky, but that's less than it is from Boise (and a prettier drive), and there aren't a lot of planes right to Pocatello. Budget rent-a-car said unlimited mileage, and we took them up on it, going on out to Astoria Oregon before we were done. The Taurus had 357 miles on it when we got it and 2604 when we brought it back.

It's a lot of miles, but one of the things I like to do on a vacation is to drive around the west. We even saw some stuff. Stay tuned...
