4-June-99 Reflective Beads

. .
.
The city highway department has repainted the crosswalks in Newton Highlands and then, and this is the fun part, poured buckets of tiny glass beads onto the wet paint to make the markings reflective. If the sun is behind you and you look at your shadow on the paint the reflection is so bright it hurts your eyes. Where there isn't paint on the street, there are still beads, and the street shimmers and a rainbow colored halo surrounds your shadow.
