When originally published in 1922
The Waste Land
did not have the dedication to Ezra Pound.
After receiving printed copies of the book Eliot
gave one to Pound inscribed with the lines:
for E.P.
miglior fabbro
from T.S.E.
Jan. 1923
The dedication was added to
The Waste Land
in 1925 when it was reprinted in Eliot's
Poems: 1909-1925.
