They enjoyed a super program, headed by former major league pitcher Bill Monbouquette, who spoke for more than an hour, expressing some very strong opinions (mostly negative) about the state of baseball today, and then answered questions. Also on the program were six authors: In alphabetical order, Dave Clark, author of "The Knucklebook"; Peter Handrinos, author of "Best New York Sports Arguments"; Peter Keating, "Dingers: A Short History of the Long Ball"; David Laurila, "Interviews From Red Sox Nation"; Richard Letarte, author of "One Glorious Season"; and Doug Lyons, author of several books of trivia and biography. Joanne Hulbert and Mickey Tangel entertained with baseball poetry, and Steve Krevisky and Dixie Tourangeau gave research preesentations. The next chapter meeting will be held in the spring, on a date to be determined, under a picnic tent at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket. Len Levin lenlevin5@HOTMAIL.COM
