I came here on 9/9/2002 with a friend, looking for
something reasonably fast in the area. Shrewsbury
Street is known for its very high end restaurants,
but it also has its share of hole in the wall
"joints"; Brew City straddles the fence between the
two, catering to a large bar scene and a family
eating dinner crowd.
For dinner we ordered the fried mushroom
appetizer, onion rings, and two steak and cheese
subs. All of the dishes came out very tasty and
were served piping hot. The fries that came with
the subs were especially good; they kept their
heat for a long time.
When you eat at a place called Brew City, you have
to try the beer. I had a Harpoon Oktoberfest 20
oz that was quite tasty. They have a variety of
microbrews; the beer menu is extensive and has
some good looking brews on it. But I was very
disappointed that there was no Guinness on
draught!
Our dessert was a fat slice of cheesecake and a
slice of chocolate chip cookie cake. Both were
sufficiently decadent and satisfying.
