I would like to introduce myself to the list as this is my first posting.
I am currently lecturing at the University of Limerick in Ireland
(http:\\www.ul.ie) in the area of HRM and HRIS, I am also Managing
Director of a small recruitment company in Dublin that engages in placing
third level students in temporary summer employment in the US.
My primary research interest is recruitment on which my Masters thesis is
based. I am also currently researching the area of supplier linkages
established by multinationals set up in Ireland and their impact on the
local economy and implications for regional and national policy
development.
I have recently been appointed as Internet editor for the Journal of
European Industrial Training, Journal of Industrial Training and also the
International Journal of the Learning Organisation and my aim is to bring
about a greater awareness of Internet usage, review related sites,
encourage practitioners & academics to actively participate in discussion
groups, virtual conferences etc... It is a new post and there are many
small issues that I will be interested in posting to the list for which
your comments will be warmly welcomed.
I will be obliged if you would comment and offer suggestions to the
following questions:
1) How is the Internet and Electronic Publishing contributing negatively
or positively to the Learning organisation?
2) What kind of integration would you like to see between the Internet and
in general the Learning Organisation.
3) Have you or do you use the Internet to obtain information from online
journals?
4) Which journals do you use and why?
5) What benefits do you feel online usage has over traditional paper
editions generally and from your personal experience?
6) Ideally, what should an online journal offer that justifies its
existence over paper editions?
7) Which sites related to training and development do you frequently visit
and what are your reasons?
Your contribution is greatly appreciated. I hope to hear from you soon.
Kindest Regards
