I was so pleased to read C.J. Saft's thoughts he has been "hiding" from us
about an evolution of organizations and learning. He makes me think.
We strive for perfection. We don't really know what that perfection might
look like, although we see moments of "Truth" and understanding which
illuminate brightly certain corners of certain organizations. From within
my own organization, almost age nin ety, I observe guerilla warfare, small
battles for Truth and understanding of the warm and fuzzy variety about
which we discourse on this list. And that's why I like C.J.'s words:
"L.O. takes into account the powers that rule and adjusts accordingly."
For me, these "powers" are often not only traditional and hierarchical,
but self-imposed and self-limiting.
On our list, we conjure, dream and argue emotionally and
phenomenologically how such power for learning can be maximized for
positive human development. And while we carry on our dialog, we "take
into account the powers that rule" right now, and we dangl ers of carrots
"adjust accordingly."
