Phil,Sandrock,Hurst and Marianne have been discussing the above theme. The
concept of failure has entered with Ed's contribution. Let me add a recent
insight from a talk by Prof SK Chakraborty of Indian Institute of
Management Calcutta which links the conversation on this thread to LO.
Chakraborty was suggesting that we should work towards perfection and not
be concerned with success and failure. My derivation from his suggestion
is that organisational systems that promote Mastery/Perfection would be
more conducive to reduce normal accidents than systems that promote
success syndrome! With Regards.
