Replying to LO11989 --

Thanks to Gary Scherling for getting me out of lurking on my 3rd day of
subscription. I've been following this thread with interest - and have a
couple of points of my own to throw into the debate, bearing in mind I
have not been following the thread from its beginning, so apologies for
any repetition: I have seen much said about reason vs. intuition, albeit
sometimes using different words. Not much has been said about intellect -
the cohesive force operating between them, the 'manifestaton of the
abstract seed of life', as Bika Reed calls it in her book, The Field of
Transformations.

I believe that the manifestation of 'intellect' as a driving force in a
person, rather than reason or intuition (though each has its time and
place) is the key to finding the soul of a company.

I as a communication skills trainer find that when people unite their
thoughts, words and deeds in a powerful, compelling act of communication
not only do they find that their intellect, rather than their emotion or
reason takes over the operation of the communication, but they appeal to
the intellect of the people around them.

Theory is great - but for me, effective communication skills are the key.
This debate ties in well with serious debates on business ethics ... and
here's a question to do with that subject:

What are the individual and universal principles you have found effective
in helping to run a company in an ethical way? Thank you all for a
stimulating start to my day ....! Look forward to contibuting more.
