I am a big believer in treating the whole person just like we need
to treat the whole system. While there are real issues with how much
encroachment in personal affairs is tolerable, how can a manager only
deal with the part of the person during 40 of the 168 hours each week
and hope to have any impact.
....
I believe that the media also contribute to unnecessary stress, not
because they are bad but because their job is to report news (and not
the good deeds performed each day). We get instant bad news from areas
of the world now that were isolated by governments and technology in
the recent past.
....
Stress is becoming the norm, not the exception. Organizations that fail
to deal with it will continue to exact an enormous toll...
