I can't resist this comment based on David's comments on the study that
found those who were most productive at work were those who are most
depressed.

This, together with his statement that those who are depressed have less
cognitive ability, seems to offer a validation of the mechanistic nature
of most organisations and work.

When cognitive is not called for in a job, the best state for productivity
in that job may be depression.
