Morals are values, principles, standards of behavior, beliefs,
ethics--something like goodness--in the context of society/community. As
discussed during the thread on self-evident truths, we each have slightly
different, but largely common notions of what is right and what is wrong.
Then we tend to form our relationships with those whose moral principles,
or sense of right and wrong, are most aligned with our own. So, morals
are the ties that bind us. And moral decay means corrosion of the stuff
that holds us together, our bonds, resulting in loose or lost
relationships, thus damaging our sense of oneness.

Now I have my own thoughts on what is "causing" moral decay...
