Mike, I obviously hit a nerve with a throwaway comment that was intended
to be jokey, sorry. As a 'non-newbie' emailer I should know better. I can
understand your concern about the press - whenever I have appeared in it
I've ALWAYS been misquoted! And I've watched the 'manchester' guardian
start to sink down into the tabloid attractor recently.

I'm very dissapointed to hear that.

As you know I have the utmost respect for SFI. Personally I find the
petty vitriol of the press amusing [mostly]. Their idea of 'real science'
is the real joke. We can expect more attacks from journalists who have a
science background as the backlash memes start up. For me this is an
idication of the success of SFI.
