Julian's interesting spiritual message refers. I don't want to get caught
up in this thread other than to make two comments. Firstly, regarding the
A-bomb attacks on Japan, although many lives were lost, some military
experts believe that many more lives were saved because of the rapid
termination of hostilities that the bombing precipitated.
Secondly, the golden rule as quoted by Julian - do unto others as you
would have them do unto you - comes from a recent translation of the
Bible.
If we go back to earlier translations we find - do not unto others that
which you would not have them do unto you. There is deep and subtle
difference here. IMHO the one is possible, the other impossible!
