I disagree with your assessment. I work for a large telecommunications
company. They have had a major project for the past 1-2 years that
directly addresses the issue. Every system is being examined to determine
how easy would it be to change or would it be easier to create a new
system. In addition every systems consultant has demonstrate in their
proposal that they will be century compliant.

The outside world may not hear about corporate efforts, because there
the companies are to busy address the issue. This telecommunication
organization is denial about other issues, but not about this one.
