Before I comment on the Y2K issue, I'd like to address Rick's comment:

The Y2K issue is so broad in scope, it will touch every organization,
every company, every household in some way, small and large. This
may sound alarmist, but it is well recognized in the IT industry that
some companies have already recognized they will be bankrupt come the
year 2000. They haven't addressed the issue yet.

IS this a learning org issue. YES! Part of any learning organization
has to be the ability to take any issue, understand it, grow from it
and move on. So here's my questions to the list.

If there are enough articles, enough people, enough pictures of doom
and gloom being painted about the year 2000, why haven't people
learned the potential risk and taken some action?

What can we do as a group of people dedicated to learning and
dedicated to the growth of society to ensure we escape the worst case
scenario?

I'll share some insights in another post about why the IT industry,
and many CIO's may be sidestepping the issue.
