I agree that the big problem is to force change upon people.

A heap of sand does not react to change. It is not alive!

A living organism reacts to change. When we are wounded and heal, that is
a kind of resistance to change!

Changing the sand is just a matter of applying enough energy.

Changing people is a matter of understanding their ways an cooperating
with them.

Maybe we shold not talk of changing people but of helping them through
their changes. While we do that, we are also helped with our own
changes...
