I would like to offer a few thoughts on *vision*:
Based upon my involvement with many client organizations over the past ten
years or so, it is helpful to ensure that no single vision statement by
any part of your organization slips into *vague good intention
generality*. This can be accomplished by putting measures into the vision
statements to demonstrate clearly what serious accomplishments of that
vision item would actually involve in terms of organizational change.
Secondly, test your vision with a customer group that asks whether all of
their needs to be serviced by your organization would be satisfied if you
consistently operated within that vision.
