My random thoughts and feelings on the matter: It seems to me that the
essential connection between things like happiness, enjoyment, virtue, and
even creativity, on one hand---and the intrinsic or autotelic rewards on
the other--has in part been recognized by thinkers in a variety of
cultural traditions. For example, the Taoist concept of YU, or right
living, based upon the works of Chuang Tzu. What think ye?
