Philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer considered that all knowledge depended on
subject/object separation, while aestethical perception relied on the
identification with the thing in itself. Thus, maybe we cannot have
knowledge independent from judgement but we can first identify ourselves
aesthetically with an event or statement and only after that work on our
knowledge (and judgement). Maybe that is a way to understand the meaning
of "balancing advocacy and inquiring".
