Hello everyone! I am the Operations Manager for a small but fast growing
medical alarm monitoring company (like a private emergency services
dispatcher). Currently I'm located in Atlanta... do I have any neighbors
out there? In the past I was a Naval Officer and I'd be happy to offer
anyone that point of view if it would be useful to them.

My current company has hit the proverbial "runner's wall". We are at a
point where we must evolve or stagnate. All the usual "modern" management
techniques are at the point of diminishing returns. I believe my company
must undergo a systemic change. I've been reading on Deming, complexity,
LOs even Tsun Tzu. To borrow a line from several LO digests, I am the
RESISTANCE (as in WWII France). I look to the digest to meet people of
similar interests, for ideas, experiments and even failures especially
ones that are applicable to a small organization. Ultimately, even if I
cannot change the organization, I want to enlighten myself on what I
perceive to be the inevitable future of successful organiztions. P.S. for
the gentleman who dared to wonder about the possible and suffered his
fellow manager's wrath because of it... be of good cheer, you're not
alone:-)

>From the trenches, I am,
Sincerely, Andy Zdanowicz
