program.

I am the program coordinator for a quality leadership initiative in
Indianapolis, IN. We are testing and refining an approach that educates
people on how the continuous improvement theory and practices can be
applied to any aspect of life. I believe that continuous improvement is
synonymous with continual learning. The model that we are testing and
using incorporates problem-recognition, decision-making, problem-solving
and continuous improvement into practical steps that can be taught and
applied by 4th graders as well as corporate and world leaders. A brief
description of our program can be found at
www.casti.com/qc/ASQC_Sections/Section_0903/asqc0903.htm.

Program Characteristics: It's free and open to the general public; It
attempts to offer a common approach for helping people to make better
decisions, achieve goals or resolve problems; I have trained 4th graders,
church leaders, military leaders, teachers, etc., and have had pretty good
success; The program is designed to develop better leaders at any age
level; The initiative does lead to long-term mentor-protigi relationships
for people that have the desire to "make a difference;" The program has
been growing every year--pretty much by word of mouth.
