The best example of operating under assumptions and prevailing mental
models even when contradictory data is flooding in is in the video Tora,
Tora, Tora.

Wayne Brocbank (sp?) a professor at Michigan uses a clip to illustrate
the power of mental models. It is compelling, unforgettable and a true
story.
