Point well taken. I cetainly would not have been regarded by my high
school teachers--at least most of them--as a person who would have assumed
the professional and community roles that I have assumed in the 28 years
since I graduated. There were, and continue to be, some important things
overlooked in the assessment of students' abilities. I guess one of the
reasons I work so hard to change the system is because I felt the system
was not adequate for me. It remains so for many others.
