No, I don't. It is the great tendency to think of one person making
noise and the other listening, but that is not "co-mmunicaation".
Of course they are both standing there. But for there to be
communication, the receiver must accept, acknoledge, feel obliged to, or
be open to the sender. If not, nothing happens. It is too simple, unless
you think about it.
Someone has an agenda, an issue, a story to tell. That breaks neutral
ground. The "other someone" sits. Is there communication? Only if the
receiver accepts that there is, period. Stimulus-response, simple as
that. No response, no communication. Needed for response? Receiver's
awareness and acceptance.
