I do think it is a very important question, and a good one to raise
in this kind of forum. Systems thinking might be able to shed some
new light on an old subject. (It's amazing what this stuff leads to,
isn't it?)

I propose a possible scenario from a percieved understanding of
population behaviour: There would be a balancing loop response - as
organisations and communities tend to select high IQ individuals,
there would be greater natural selection of lower IQ population
resulting in a societal power imbalance, leading to policies and
allotments favoring lower IQ individuals. I say this because I have
noticed populations highest at risk of death tend to have larger
density of population. A similar tendency could be triggered. If
there is a population expert on this list, he/she may comment! This
is only a hypothesis.
