Replying to LO9128 --

Dear Rick,

Replying to my comment on the Focus of LO you wrote this:

Thanks for giving me this opportunity to make myself clear here. I do not
want this group focus only on specific issues. All I would like to see
here is that this group discusses various and numerous issues with a
linkage between them and the ways to see LO. We need richness in our
discussion. But pollination and cross-pollication would eventually end up
in producing something. Taking cues from the meetings using Open Space
(OS) Technology, wherein - just like here - various discussion groups
would evolve naturally and discussions on various issues relating to the
Theme of the meeting take place and finally the out put of these
discussions are inducted into the Theme. Influenced by the statement you
have just now read, I would rather term this discussion as an IT Open
Space Discussion on LO (Courtesy: Shailendra ). If that is the name the
four principles of the OS would also be very much applicable. Here they
are:

1. Whoever comes is the right person -> Here people subscribe at
their will.

2. Whenever it starts is the right time -> Rick, you have
started this at the right time. And when new threads are
coming up it is not just they are coming up. They are coming
up at the right time. For instance Our Purpose Here on LO
LO9128 has started at the right time.

3. Whatever happens is the only thing that could have -> The
current discussion, all the previous discussions and the
thinking that is going on somewhere in some of our friends'
minds are all the best examples.

4. When it is over it is over -> We have seen here many
formal and informal conclusions to the various discussion
threads.

The market place:

People did use this as a market place. Some of us did involve ourselves
in pursuing the discussions. Rick himself facilitated conversations in
this place.

Time:

Yes, it is here I see a difference which in my view is insignificant as
the Time itself decides it.

The Law of two feet:

We all have the right to subscribe, unsubscribe and subscribe........
...... all at our will.

The Butterflies:

Some threads attract only few people and those people, I am sure would
have established personal contacts and been pursuing their discussions.
Some people send copies of their conversation to LO some do not. When
they do not send ( I respect and understand their intention) they deprive
the LO members of their contributions (please note that now I am in a mood
to compare LO with OS)

The Bumble-bees:

I am one of those. ( I do not know how much richness or wretchedness did
I so far provided to this Dialogue ) I found so many here that they just
come and go with their Flash like postings that ignite discussions of a
considerale no. of days.

Let me now talk about the Theme (it is this Theme that I referred to as
Focus. Thanks again to Rick for giving me this opportunity) the very
purpose for which this list is created. The Theme, I think here is LO and
its related issues. We all know this. I think that the time has come for
us to check before we let the message go - believe me I did it twice
before posting this. ( I would like to go by the suggestion given here
some time back which reads something like this: do not post what you
prepared today; save, open and read it again tomorrow. Then decide -
this norm we must adopt when time permits). Any decision to post to LO is
a decision to reveal the Self. I have just now realised that I have
exhausted all that I have to share with you. I thank Reed also for his
reply to my posting and his few but valuable guiding words. Hi! Reed did I
succeed in using your guidance?

Meet you all later..

With love.
