Introduction - Dr. Michael Kelleher

I have been a user of the list for some months now and have finally come
out. I am an independent consultant and researcher with a particular
interest in exploring how learning organisation practices and principles
can be made meaningful to small and medium-sized enterprises and also
outside of the private sector - amongst schools, colleges, etc. Do any of
you know of any studies, cases in these areas which may be of help to me?

In addition I am the General Secretary of the European Consortium for the
Learning Organisation (ECLO). ECLO is a non-profit making association
registered in Belgium. There are 30 members including some multi-national
companies, universities and consultants from 9 different European
countries. ECLO has organised 3 conferences to date and is planning the
4th conference to be held in Sth France in May next year. In September we
will be publishing a call for papers for that conference. Anyone
interested in details? ECLO takes an independent stance in relation to
theories, methods, etc. It is an open house for those organisations
wishing to come together in a community of practice.

Finally, on behalf of one of our members who is keen to benchmark against
certain issues I am looking for examples of how learning can be rewarded
and how existing mental models have been addressed. With regards to the
latter he already has the `Fieldbook' but is now seeking to make contact
with organisations to share experiences.

I look forward to joining in some of the discussion here in the future.
