Replying to LO8990, Robert says,

"I find that very little is clarified on this list. It seems that that is
part of the culture, and perhaps for some, it appears that things just go
round and round. For others, clearly, this is the kind of discourse they
enjoy."

And Rol says in LO9011 that,

"I share some of robert's perspectives about the list. However, I know I
have learned some interesting and valuable lessons from others as a result
of the dialog/debate here."

For me, the issue is one of continuous improvement, a series of small
shifts that may be unnoticeable to even the participant. But when looked
at over a long period of time, progress is made in the journey. Guess it
is kind of like watching a garden grow. Tough to do minute by minute or
day by day. Yet the payoff occurs when things are nurtured.

If one takes a look at threads, you can find a gradual shift in the nature
of the conversations until the thread reaches "closure" or runs out. And
if I look in my filed messages folder, there are a LOT of ideas and themes
that I've saved for future review. Some, I wonder why I saved, others get
refiled into some of my thoughts and writings files.

Isn't that what this forum is all about??

When I see the shots being taken at others ideas and shared thinking,
sometimes I wonder about the motives and intentions of the shooters. But
then, I guess it also stimulates dialog and that's what it is about.

So, keep up the good work, y'all,

For the Fun of It!
