Replying to LO8881 --

Hi everyone - I have been on two weeks holiday in Scotland and have come
back to pick up the back end of what looks to have been a fascinating
conversation - Anne, my colleague has been picking up my mail and has
saved them all - so I will get chance to read them and I hope no-one will
mind if I join in late to the dicussion.

I should declare myself first - I am a Christian (adult convert whose
husband has found his vocation as a full time minister in the Church of
England)

>> If for instance, the Church of England or the Church of
>>South India were to use the principles of LO in their organisation, I
>>think the church would differ in the way they would respond to its members
>>and society.(Please note, this does not mean they are not. Unknowingly,
>>they probably are using the LO principles).

Actually there are a number of people within the Church of England who are
actively working to understand and apply LO principles in their
organisations (some of them are on this list). We had a conference on the
Church of England as a Learning Organisation in March with participants
from all over the country. I met today wityh the national Missioner for
the Church who is keenly progressing how we can take this work forward in
a number of directions .......... and then in the afternoon with a group
from the Dioceses of Lichfield who are committed to taking the work
forward in the Diocese and discovering ways to do so.

At the conference we did some theological reflections on LO principles and
I have some other resources in this area - once I have read all of the
posts and aquinted myself with the conversation so far I will share some
of these....
