Michael McMaster <Michael@kbddean.demon.co.uk> picks up on my simple
definition relating to rate of change:

>2) The people need to be conditioned to accept this higher rate

and offers a more comprehensive action:

>"People need to be included in what is happening and have extended contact
>with their environments so that they are an active part of the change that
>is occurring and able to deal with its rate."

Michael, I agree with your action as it relates to the corporate context.
My examples also included Olympic performance by athletes and the word
conditioned seemed to span the world. It also carries the connotation that
the conditioning is a personal choice and not something "done to them".

I suppose we could expand the 'system' definition to include the media
coverage of world championships events, especially including interviews
with their competitors, and then your definition would apply equally to
athletes. Thanks for the thoughts...Keith

(PS This notion of the media influencing the 'system' in which we live has
potential for gaining insights into emerging trends in our governance)
