I absoluetly agree with Dick Wolff that this needs to be aproached from a
systems perspective because there is a real disconnect between those that
have and those that have not. We seperate from each other yet we are
really intimately connected. I had referred to a David Bohm article in my
introduction and one of the things he states is that we create divisions
in our minds. For example, there are no lines on the planet where country
boundaries exist -- we create those in our minds and draw pictures and
consequently fight wars and hate people on the other side of our imaginary
lines. A LO philosophy would drive us more towards thinking that we have
a systems problem in reagrd to wealth, yet, Bohm would say that it is our
thinking which created the problems we have right now. We have to *think*
in a different way. So for example, to say that the system is at fault is
judgement which means we are thinking about in the old way because when we
judge something we create a seperation.
What he states further is that most people believe their personal thoughts
disapear into thin air and have no impact. He states that thinking is a
system on this planet and does have an impact but that impact has
traditionally been ignored.
Perhaps this discussion will help illustrate the challenge I believe we as
a world are faced with which is how to dramatically change events so that
the divisions which we as a collective force have created on this planet
don't deepen further. It involves thinking in a very different way but
you can't think about it to get there...
