Robert asked, "If values do not result in behaviour consistent with those
values, what function do these values fulfil? How do we know a person
holds a certain value, if not by behaviour?"
I think Roy-Layford Pike in LO8489 has answered this query. I think one
behaviour is not a measure of any specific value. Maybe, we can say a
person holds a set of values, based on several actions over a period of
time. Moreover, values may even change over this same period of
observation. I am not an expert on values. This discussion on this list
has raised my level of understanding its complexity. I have not thought
through this subject so much in so short a time.
