Replying to LO8052 --

This is meant to build on my post from yesterday and continuing LO7927,
management commitment (outcomes v. processes)

What brought me to the table (now that I have my notes) John Woods'
comments and his listing of 2 values ...
-- to focus on processes
-- there are no successes or failures
only learning experiences

Rather than values, I think these are consequences of other core values.
If there is a commitment to focus on "core values" then certain outcomes
and and processes will be generated that flow from these values. Rol also
brought up the point that values should be built into processes --- here
at school we were discussing our Homework completion subsys/process--- we
did a values heiracrchy/clarification and found that what we realy wanted
was for the student to develop a work ethic ... then the question is, do
our processes support this value ? Here we had a process and tried to
find the value. I think the prefered way is to hash out your core values
and then design processes to attain those values.

thanks,
