Sorry about the confusion in names.

Basically I agree with your point. I was responding to a series of
postings. One described a person who had changed fairly quickly to
destructive and abusive behavior. Others responded that it may be a
problem of poor management. I think I oversimplified in attempting to
point out that there are reasons having nothing to do with management --
or even work -- which could cause such a shift in behavior. Additionally,
anyone -- manager or peer -- acting under the assumption that it is
'merely' a management problem could seriously underestimate the bad
feelings this person is experiencing. This in turn could have very
harmful cosequences.

As you say, it is not necessarily the case that this person is
experiencing severe psychological difficulties. I repeat, however, a
rapid change in behavior to the kind of destructive and abusive behavior
described is cause for alarm, and it requires a thoughtful response.
Expert advice would be very helpful to most managers dealing with this
situation.
