Ben's comments on his own experience in a team which was considering hiring
someone illustrates the idea that consensus is agreeing to disagree, and that
for consensus, a team member may "disagree and commit".

I wish to point out that the teams with which I have most immediate experience
are in a manufacturing environment. Ethical issues are fewer, or deep below
the surface of most issues considered at this site.

Tomorrow I am facilitating a group of educators involved in a School-to-Work
grant team. Our meeting will center on the use of a Relations Diagram to
determine the team's reasons for supporting the stated team goal. This
exercise will be more interesting, because it will cover ground generally
beyond the scope of reactive problem solving teams at my company.

Regards,
