Roxanne Abbas, reminding us of the unconscious (or semi-conscious) cruelty

Thanks for this reminder, Roxanne. The first time I saw a "clean room" in
a semiconductor fab, I was astounded. For quite a long time I had
believed that the high incidence of fatal infection in hospitals was
essentially unavoidable because (or so I thought) conditions of high
sterility were impossible to maintain where there is human traffic. I had
never attributed it to cost accounting.
