According to my dictionary:
Entrepreneur: One who owns, launches, manages and assumes the risks of
an economic venture. Also an agent between groups or individuals.

I think the innovation overtones you ascribe are because anyone doing all
the above has to be creative and a master of many disciplines. This is why
many ascribe some of these qualities to an "intrapreneur". The parallel
fails us because an intrapreneur usually does not have a position of
ownership and their risk is more personal pride than real economic. The
second definition probably fits the corporate world better - that of
