Joe, The original source for action research is Kurt Lewin. Edgar Schein
is another good source. Process consultation owes its existence to Lewin.
I eidted a special issue of "Systems Practice" that came out this winter.
In it is an article by Geoff Maruyama which explores action research.
Another article by Ed Schein makes reference to the approach as well.
