Yes, Terri, assumptions are implicit in our discourse. What frustrates me
are arguments and dialogue over opinions that go around and around and
around because differences in underlying assumptions are never made
explicit and thus can't be tested. Sometimes that's because assumptions
can be so transparent but oftentimes that's because we are afraid to test
our assumptions or are closed to double-loop learning.
