I agree with Rol about the parent angle i.e. how we parents are NIMBY's
(that's "not in my back yard") about change agents in our K-12
institutions.
With this thought in mind, I hope to address about 1000 teachers next
October during a day-long convention of 3 local school districts. My
theme will be the paradox of teamwork; my intention is in some small way
to leverage current "real world" employee character/quality requirements
in order to make teachers aware of where to place collaboration skills on
some scale of importance.
While I do not envision spectacular things arising from my thoughts, I can
safely say that I am going to address adults who are teachers,
administrators AND parents. I will recount some of the very same ideas
which Rol presents to us on this list, and for which I once again thank
him.
