Replying to LO6699 --

I can appreciate some of Scott Simmerman's impatience with an
intolerant school system. He asked:

> What's a parent to do? And how do we Positively affect and effect
> The System so as to generate learning in our children who will be
> workers in the learning organizations of tomorrow.

Maybe we don't effect the system as much as create a new system.

> I get tired of this Blame Frame. "It's the System, Stupid."

I agree it's the current system, with few checks and balances on
individual teachers who may be destroying individual children's love
of learning, creating rather a hatred of school.

I'll emphasize the fact it's up to the parents as individuals to take
up the teaching challenge for our own children. Do it on weekends.
Involve them in learning. Show by example.

I saw a program last night on television (my wife pointed it out!).
It was about HAPPINESS. From studies, overwhelmingly people agreed
they'd rather their children were happy (71%) than wealthy or
succesful.
