Replying to LO6577 --

I don't know if I'm concurring fully with Hal but I do envy him the
experience he reports. I've been through some similar kinds of
exercises and found them enormously valuable to me development.

I also have competed on teams that were national champions and they
were not a "bed of roses" but they were all experiences that I
wouldn't want traded out of my life.

The relationships that developed in all of these and the development
of many aspects of myself were great. I've also developed from being
in completely non-confrontive, loving, spiritual environments (like
Ashrams) and these too I wouldn't trade.

The part of Hal's point that I want to support is to distinguish
between attack on the person and whatever occurs towards the ideas
and the expression of those ideas. Ridicule, moral judgement, etc
are not something that I care to see on the list. I'm also not
concerned that I will. Rick has rejected a few of my posts for the
possibility of this and I've either managed to clean them up or not
post and be coached by the experience.

I do want to see criticism in whatever form it takes when aimed at
the ideas or expressions. I also want to make sure that we do not
limit the dialogue to only those who can express elegantly or
politely or whatever.

And I've always appreciated Rick's handling of this list. It's the
only one that's managed to keep my participation.
