Well, maybe you could figure out the criteria that the boss uses to make
those decisions and then figure out how you can integrate your criteria
with your bosses criteria so things are win/win. I think the leverage
point in integrating the criteria is that the criteria are context
dependent.

[I have to admit, this is easy to say, not so easy to put into practice.
I've been working at it for the last 3 years, 10 hours a day and I haven't
figured it out yet.

For me, it's a double bind - I can't make things win/win so I might as
well not do anything at all and I can't do anything because I don't want
to work in only one area.

I'm willing to starve till I figure this out because it will be like a
pyramid effect when I do figure it out - very recursive exponential
effect.

What I have to figure out is how to increase my capabilities so I can
manage complexity.

Gee these double binds are everywhere! It's amazing we didn't see them
